Burning Leaf Cigar and Jazz Bar

70 North Raymond Avenue (just north of Colorado), Pasadena, 626.744.9800. Great live jazz in a beautifully designed and well-located private cigar bar, with even a tiny dance floor for when you just have to groove - but it is fragrant with smoke from fine cigars. The music is a delight, with Caito's Son Candela Latin Jazz Quartet on Fridays (as of fall-winter 2001) and the drinks are fairly priced (since it's a membership club). If you don't mind the smoke too much (there is a good ventilating system), and enjoy hearing wonderful live Latin jazz played by some of LA's finest musicians, with guest musicians sitting in, you'll LOVE this place! Owner/Host Nabil Soueidi is a most gracious fellow. Sadly, the club is no more, as of Summer, 2003. AT
